    Aloha, I’m AJ!

    I’m a Licensed Cosmetologist originally from Honolulu, Hawai‘i, and the owner and wax specialist behind The Waxing Wahine.

    I started my beauty career back in 2013 after graduating with honors from Paul Mitchell The School and earning a spot on the Dean’s List. A few years later, I found waxing in 2016 and pretty quickly realized, yep… this is my thing.

    After gaining years of hands-on experience with a well-known national waxing company, I eventually took the leap and opened my own studio. What started as a love for waxing turned into a space where I get to help people feel more confident, comfortable, and cared for every single day.

    These days, Brazilian waxing is my specialty, and I’ve created The Waxing Wahine to feel a little different from your typical waxing appointment. Think professional, welcoming, judgment-free, and hopefully way less awkward than you imagined.

    I know getting waxed can feel intimidating, especially if it’s your first time, but I promise you do not need to have anything “figured out” before you come in. Hair growth, body type, nerves, questions… I’ve seen it all, and you are always welcome here.

    For me, waxing is about so much more than removing hair. It’s about helping you feel good in your skin, giving you a little confidence boost, and creating an appointment you can actually look forward to.

    So whether you’ve been waxing for years or you’re finally ready to break up with your razor, I’m so happy you found me.

About the wax

Here at The Waxing Wahine, we use Black Coral Wax which is locally owned and distributed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Never tested on animals and safe to use on sensitive skin. Formulated with the finest resins, Black Coral Wax delivers superior waxing results, leaving skin smooth and soft. This Distinctive and bold wax was inspired by the newly created Pohoiki Black Sand Beach, Big Island of Hawai'i.
